Abstract

Abstract: This scholarly article deeply investigates the gradual decline in reading among teenagers, a trend that has accelerated in the last decade. It examines multifaceted reasons for this shift, including technological advances, changes in social interaction, evolving educational policies, psychological factors, family environments, and the ever-present influence of digital culture. The study synthesizes existing literature, interviews with educators and youth, and firsthand observations, aiming to demonstrate that while the reading crisis is complex, effective strategies do exist. It proposes creative, evidence-based ways families, schools, and entire communities can reignite a passion for reading, ensuring this vital habit not only survives but flourishes for generations to come.
