Abstract

This article examines the role of Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) in
developing learners’ communicative competence in English language classes. The
study focuses on the use of meaningful, purposeful and learner-centred tasks that
encourage students to use English as a means of real communication rather than simply
memorising grammatical rules and vocabulary. Particular attention is given to
speaking, listening, interaction, problem-solving and collaborative activities. The
article discusses the theoretical foundations of task-based language teaching, its
practical implementation in the classroom, and its potential contribution to students’
communicative confidence and language proficiency. The findings suggest that
appropriately designed communicative tasks can create more opportunities for
authentic language use, increase learner participation and support the development of
practical
English
communication
skills.
