Keywords:
video conferencing, web conferencing, WebRTC, multimedia communication, RTP, codecs, real-time communication, screen sharing, teleconference, cybersecurity.Abstract
Video and web conferencing have become essential technologies for
real-time communication, distance education, remote work, telemedicine, business
collaboration, and international scientific cooperation. This article examines the
principles, architecture, protocols, media processing, quality requirements, security
mechanisms, and practical applications of modern conferencing systems. Particular
attention is given to Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC), multimedia
compression,
RTP/RTCP transport, peer-to-peer connectivity, multiparty
conferencing, screen sharing, and cloud-based collaboration. The article also explains
the difference between video conferencing and web conferencing and discusses current
challenges such as bandwidth limitations, latency, packet loss, privacy, authentication,
and scalability.
