Abstract

The rapid development of the digital economy has fundamentally changed the
way tourism destinations, businesses, and public institutions collect, process, and use
information. At the same time, the rapid growth of tourism creates economic
opportunities but may also increase pressure on natural resources, infrastructure, local
communities, and the environment. In this context, Data Analytics can become an
important instrument for balancing tourism growth with sustainability objectives. This
study examines the role of Data Analytics in sustainable tourism management and
evaluates how data-driven approaches can support tourism demand forecasting,
visitor-flow management, resource optimization, environmental monitoring, and
evidence-based decision-making. The research applies a qualitative and descriptive
analytical approach based on a review of recent academic literature published between
2021 and 2025 and secondary statistical data from UN Tourism and the National
Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The analysis demonstrates thatthe increasing volume and diversity of tourism-related data create opportunities for
more accurate planning and more efficient allocation of tourism resources. The case
of Uzbekistan is particularly relevant because the number of foreign citizens visiting
the country for tourism purposes reached 11.7 million in 2025, an increase of 46.8%
compared with the previous year. Such rapid growth increases the need for data-driven
tourism management. The study concludes that Data Analytics should be considered
not only a technological instrument but also a strategic management capability for
achieving economic, environmental, and social dimensions of sustainable tourism.
