In the 21st century, English language education has become an
essential component of developing students' communication and higher-order thinking
skills. This paper examines the role of English language learning in fostering critical
thinking among learners. It discusses how modern teaching approaches, including
communicative language teaching, project-based learning, problem-based learning,
classroom debates, collaborative learning, and authentic materials, contribute to
students' ability to analyze information, evaluate evidence, solve problems, and make
informed decisions. The study also emphasizes the importance of integrating critical
