Abstract

This article examines the chemical and physical properties of fatty 
substances, their behavior in the aquatic environment, and the forms in which they 
occur in wastewater. The insolubility of fatty substances, differences in density, and 
their ability to form emulsions are discussed as factors that make them complex 
components in the treatment process. In addition, information is provided on the 
methods of separating fatty substances, including their mechanical, physical, chemical, 
and biological characteristics.
