Abstract

The rapid development of the global railway industry has
increased the demand for specialists who possess not only technical knowledge but
also effective communication skills in English. English has become the primary
language of international transportation, technological innovation, professional
documentation, and cross-border cooperation. Railway college students must therefore
acquire communicative competence that enables them to interact confidently in
professional environments. This article examines the importance of developing
English communication skills among railway college students, identifies major
challenges in language acquisition, and explores modern teaching approaches that can
enhance students' communicative abilities. The study highlights the role of English for
Specific Purposes (ESP), digital technologies, project-based learning, and interactive
classroom activities in preparing future railway professionals for the demands of the
international labor market.
