RAPID LABORATORY DIAGNOSTICS OF SEPSIS: CURRENT TECHNOLOGIES FOR PATHOGEN IDENTIFICATION AND ANTIMICROBIAL SUSCEPTIBILITY ASSESSMENT
Keywords:

Sepsis remains a major global healthcare challenge and one of
the leading causes of mortality in intensive care units. Delayed etiological diagnosis
and the nonspecific nature of clinical manifestations often impede the timely initiation
of appropriate antimicrobial therapy, resulting in poorer patient outcomes. Recent
advances in laboratory diagnostics have enabled rapid identification of causative
pathogens and assessment of antimicrobial susceptibility within significantly shorter
timeframes. These technologies facilitate earlier targeted antimicrobial treatment,
improve therapeutic decision-making, and contribute to reduced mortality and
enhanced clinical outcomes in patients with sepsis.
