Abstract. The article addresses the problem of vocabulary acquisition by 5th–6th grade students in schools of Karakalpakstan where Karakalpak, Uzbek, Kazakh and Turkmen are languages of instruction. Students often learn new English words quickly but forget them within days. Drawing on research into spaced repetition, dual coding and involvement load, the author proposes a four-step vocabulary cycle “See — Hear — Use — Revisit” supported by digital tools (Quizlet, Wordwall, LearningApps, Kahoot). The role of students’ home languages and of international words shared with Russian and Turkic languages is discussed. A practical spaced repetition schedule for a school week is offered.
