Abstract

Abstract. This article analyzes the agrophysical characteristics of new lands forming on the bottom of the dried Aral Sea, the natural and anthropogenic factors influencing their formation, and the possibilities for agricultural use. During the study, attention was paid to the main agrophysical indicators of the dried bed soils of the Aral Sea, such as mechanical composition, volume and specific density, porosity, moisture capacity, structural state, water-physical properties, and salinity. It has been shown that soil formation processes on the dried seabed are closely linked to climate dryness, high evaporation, wind erosion, salt redistribution, and the development of vegetation.
