Abstract: Brucellosis remains a major public health challenge in endemic regions, characterized by diverse clinical manifestations, a high propensity for chronicity, and multi-organ involvement. Timely diagnosis and accurate staging of the disease are critical to preventing long-term disability. Serum concentrations of IL-6, TNF-α, hs-CRP, and NLR were significantly elevated in all brucellosis groups compared to healthy controls
Systemic inflammatory and immune biomarkers demonstrate substantial diagnostic and prognostic utility in human brucellosis. Elevated baseline levels of IL-6, TNF-α, and NLR serve as sensitive predictors of disease severity and chronicity, providing a rational basis for pathogenetically targeted immunomodulatory interventions.
