Abstract. This article analyzes the linguistic and methodological foundations of developing speech culture and communicative competence in modern Uzbek language education. The study examines the concept of speech culture, adherence to literary language norms, and the development of students’ abilities to express their thoughts clearly, logically, fluently, and effectively. Particular attention is paid to the role of the communicative approach in mother-tongue education and the use of interactive methods, modern educational technologies, and practical speech tasks.
