This article discusses the importance of Taekwondo training for athletes with Down syndrome. The main focus is on social adaptation, communication, and self-confidence. Children and young people with Down syndrome may have lower levels of physical activity than their peers. Regular and adapted physical exercises can help improve their physical development, social participation, independence, and emotional well-being. Taekwondo training can be useful because it has a clear and organized structure. Athletes learn to follow the coach’s instructions, work in pairs and groups, and learn techniques step by step. These activities can help athletes communicate with others, work as a team, and feel more confident in their abilities. The article also focuses on the importance of an individual approach, safety, positive encouragement, and social interaction during Taekwondo training. Properly organized Taekwondo sessions can support the physical, social, and psychological development of athletes with Down syndrome.
