Abstract

Immunoglobulin A vasculitis (IgA vasculitis, IgAV), formerly known as Henoch–Schönlein purpura, is the most common systemic small-vessel vasculitis in childhood. Although the disease can occur at any age, it predominantly affects children, with the highest incidence observed between 4 and 6 years of age. Approximately 90% of pediatric cases occur in children younger than 10 years.
