Abstract

This study investigates the theoretical underpinnings of the lexical minimum, examining its linguodidactic relevance, the evolution of the concept, and its contribution to contemporary language teaching. Drawing on a comparative approach, it reviews the scholarly perspectives of leading foreign linguists and synthesizes the principal methodological principles underlying the development of lexical minimums. In addition, the article proposes an authorial approach that may serve as a methodological framework for developing proficiency level-based (A1–C2) lexical minimums for the Uzbek language.
