Abstract

Independent learning has become an essential element of higher education, enabling students to take responsibility for their own learning and develop academic, professional, and lifelong learning skills. This paper examines the role of independent learning in higher education, highlighting its main benefits, challenges, and the importance of learner autonomy, self-regulation, and reflective learning. The study also emphasizes the contribution of modern digital technologies to promoting effective independent learning. It concludes that strengthening independent learning can improve students' academic performance and prepare them for future professional success.
