This article explores the linguocultural features of phraseological units in modern English short stories. Phraseological expressions are regarded not only as linguistic structures but also as cultural phenomena that preserve national mentality, historical memory, and social values. The study analyzes how modern English writers employ idioms and fixed expressions to represent cultural identity, social relationships, and contemporary worldview. Particular attention is paid to the interaction between language, culture, and literary discourse, as well as the role of phraseological units in shaping cultural symbolism and emotional perception. The article demonstrates that phraseological units in modern English fiction function as important markers of cultural experience and contribute significantly to the artistic and communicative effectiveness of literary texts.
