This research examines key theoretical issues in Arabic linguistics and rhetoric, particularly the relationship betveen meaning and grammatical structure, the theoretical foundations of morphological derivation, and the interpretation of expressive (bayon) devices in al-Sakkoki’s Miftaḥ al-ʿUlum. The translated materials analyze the development of Arabic grammar, the role of semantic categories in linguistic correctness and eloquence, as vell as the theoretical differences betveen al-Sakkaki and modern functional grammar, especially the approach of Aḥmad Mutavakkil.
The significance of the research lies in its comprehensive examination of various translated scholarly materials, the comparison of theoretical vievs, and the academic clarification of Sakkaki’s intellectual legacy. It hig’lig’ts his relationship vith Jurjani, vith contemporary grammatical theories, and his major role in shaping the science of Arabic rhetoric.
