Abstract

This article investigates the effectiveness of communicative approaches in teaching English in higher education. The study emphasizes the importance of interaction-based language instruction in developing students’ linguistic and communicative competence. A qualitative theoretical research design was applied, based on the analysis of scholarly literature in applied linguistics and pedagogy. The findings indicate that communicative teaching methods enhance language acquisition, learner engagement, and academic performance. The study concludes that integrating communicative principles into English language teaching is essential for improving educational outcomes in higher education
