Abstract

This article examines phonetic relations between the English and Uzbek languages through a comparative linguistic approach. The research analyzes similarities and differences in vowel and consonant systems, stress patterns, intonation, and pronunciation norms. Particular attention is given to phonemes existing in English but absent in Uzbek, which often cause pronunciation difficulties for Uzbek learners. The study highlights the importance of phonetic relations in the process of foreign language acquisition and communication. Furthermore, the article explains how comparative phonetic analysis can contribute to improving language teaching methodology and reducing pronunciation errors among students. Linguistic features of phonetic phenomena are illustrated with practical examples, and their theoretical as well as practical significance is discussed. The findings demonstrate that understanding phonetic structures of both languages enhances communicative competence and intercultural interaction in modern language education.
