At present, herbicides such as monuron, diuron, simazine, atrazine, methurin, and others are widely used in agriculture. Acetylenic compounds containing a triple bond are known to exhibit herbicidal activity. Among these compounds, carbamate derivatives are also recognized as biologically active herbicidal and insecticidal agents. In the present study, the herbicidal activity of synthesized propargyl carbamate derivatives was investigated under laboratory conditions. The experiments demonstrated that propynyl 2,4-dichlorophenylcarbamate exhibited selective herbicidal activity, destroying hairy amaranth by 82.1% while stimulating the growth intensity of cultivated plants, particularly cotton. The obtained results indicate that acetylenic carbamate derivatives may represent promising selective herbicides for agricultural applications.
