USING CHATGPT TO IMPROVE STUDENTS' SPEAKING SKILLS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING

This study explores the efficacy of using ChatGPT, an advanced conversational AI developed by OpenAI, as a tool to enhance students' speaking skills in English language learning. Through a mixed-methods approach involving pre- and post-intervention assessments, participant surveys, and qualitative feedback, the research evaluates the impact of ChatGPT-mediated practice sessions on learners' pronunciation, fluency, and conversational confidence. Results indicate that integrating ChatGPT into language learning curricula offers significant improvements in oral proficiency, while also providing learners with accessible and personalized speaking practice opportunities. The study discusses the implications of AI-assisted language education and suggests best practices for implementing ChatGPT as a supplementary resource in English language classrooms.
