ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF ONLINE EDUCATION

Abstract

Online education has become an important part of modern educational systems due to rapid technological development and the increasing availability of internet services. It provides learners with flexible access to educational resources regardless of geographical location. However, despite its numerous benefits, online education also presents several challenges related to communication, motivation, and technical infrastructure. This study analyzes the major advantages and disadvantages of online education based on a review of recent academic literature and international educational reports. The findings indicate that online learning improves accessibility, flexibility, and cost efficiency, while challenges such as limited face-to-face interaction, digital inequality, and reduced practical experience remain significant. The study concludes that blended learning, which combines online and traditional classroom instruction, is the most effective educational approach.
