The cone is one of the most fundamental three-dimensional geometric solids studied in mathematics and engineering. Due to its unique geometric properties and wide range of practical applications, the cone occupies an important place in geometry education. Understanding the structure of a cone, including its axis, generator, base, lateral surface, and total surface area, is essential for solving mathematical problems and applying geometric principles in real-world contexts. This review paper examines the geometric characteristics of cones, explains the relationships among their fundamental elements, and discusses methods for calculating lateral and total surface areas. The paper also highlights practical applications of cone geometry in engineering, architecture, manufacturing, and science. The findings demonstrate that cone geometry provides a foundation for understanding more advanced concepts in solid geometry and spatial analysis.References
