Abstract

Mixed-ability classrooms have become increasingly common in educational institutions worldwide due to inclusive education policies, diverse student populations, and varying learning needs. These classrooms consist of students with different levels of knowledge, skills, learning styles, motivation, and socio-cultural backgrounds. While teaching mixed-ability classes presents significant challenges, it also offers valuable opportunities for collaborative learning, creativity, and student-centered instruction. This article explores the characteristics of mixed-ability classrooms, identifies the main challenges teachers face, and discusses effective teaching strategies and innovative approaches that promote equal learning opportunities for all students. Furthermore, the paper emphasizes the importance of technology integration, differentiated instruction, formative assessment, and professional development in improving teaching effectiveness.
