EFFECTIVE METHODS OF TEACHING PROFESSIONALLY ORIENTED ENGLISH (ESP) TO TECHNICAL COLLEGE STUDENTS

Abstract

This article analyzes effective methods of teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) to college students. The modern labor market requires specialists not only to have professional knowledge and skills, but also to have the competence to communicate freely in foreign languages, especially English. Therefore, the ESP approach is of great importance in college education. The article highlights the advantages of the communicative approach, project-based learning, problem-based learning, the use of information and communication technologies, and interactive methods. The effectiveness of these methods in preparing students for real professional situations is also analyzed based on examples. The results of the study show that ESP methods are an important tool in increasing students' professional vocabulary, developing their speech competence, and preparing them for future professional activities.
