KARATE AS A MEANS OF INCREASING THE MOVEMENT ACTIVITY OF STUDENT YOUTH

This article examines the problem of motor activity deficiency among modern student youth and ways to address it through Oriental martial arts. Based on the analysis of the specifics of the training process in karate, its effectiveness as an accessible and high-intensity tool for increasing the level of students' physical activity was substantiated. The authors reveal the impact of regular classes on the development of students' core physical qualities, coordination abilities, and overall work capacity. Particular attention is paid to the motivational aspects of karate training, which contribute to the formation of a sustainable habit of a healthy lifestyle. The conclusion was drawn that it is advisable to more extensively introduce karate elements into the variable part of physical education curricula in higher and secondary specialized educational institutions.
