THE IMPORTANCE OF DIGITAL PLATFORMS IN BUILDING LEXICAL COMPETENCE IN ENGLISH

Abstract

This article analyzes the role and importance of digital platforms in the formation of lexical competence in teaching English. In particular, the possibilities of platforms such as Quizlet, Duolingo, Memrise, Kahoot and Wordwall, created on the basis of modern information and communication technologies, for increasing vocabulary, consolidating new lexical units and using them in practical speech are highlighted. The study substantiates the fact that digital tools increase student motivation, develop independent learning skills and provide an individual approach. The advantages of using interactive tasks, game technologies and artificial intelligence elements in the process of developing lexical competence are also shown. The results of the article are of practical importance for English teachers and researchers.
