CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING IN UZBEKISTAN: CURRENT TRENDS AND FUTURE PERSPECTIVES

Abstract

English has become a global language that plays a crucial role in education, science, technology, and international communication. In Uzbekistan, the importance of English language education has increased significantly due to educational reforms and the country's integration into the global community. Although considerable progress has been made in improving English language teaching (ELT), several challenges, including teacher qualification gaps, limited resources, and traditional teaching methods, continue to affect learning outcomes. At the same time, technological advancements, government support, and international cooperation create new opportunities for enhancing English language education. This study explores the major challenges and opportunities in English language teaching in Uzbekistan and examines their implications for future educational development.
