USING AUTHENTIC MATERIALS TO DEVELOP LISTENING COMPREHENSION SKILLS

Abstract

This article analyzes the importance of using authentic materials in developing listening comprehension skills in the process of teaching a foreign language. The types of authentic materials, their role in the formation of students' communicative competence, and methods of using them in the lesson are highlighted. It also shows the possibilities of developing students' listening comprehension, pronunciation, vocabulary, and intercultural communication skills through the use of authentic audio and video materials.
