Abstract

The Aral Sea region represents a critical focal point for ecological restoration and socio-economic revitalization in Central Asia. As regional governments accelerate investments in broadband and digital networks to mitigate the long-term consequences of environmental desiccation, a fundamental question emerges regarding the efficacy of these capital allocations in an environmentally challenged landscape. This article employs multiple regression analysis to evaluate the correlation between digital infrastructure expenditure and localized gross domestic product indicators across the Aral Sea region over the past decade. The findings demonstrate a statistically significant positive correlation between digital network penetration and regional economic output, although the magnitude of the impact is mediated by existing structural constraints and human capital levels. The study concludes by advising policymakers on the necessity of balancing high-tech digital infrastructure funding with traditional capital projects to optimize the economic multiplier effect in regions undergoing ecological transition.
