Abstract

Speaking English is one of the most challenging skills for students in vocational education due to limited language exposure, lack of practice opportunities, and insufficient communicative environment. This article examines the main difficulties faced by vocational education students in developing English speaking skills and explores effective solutions to overcome these challenges. The study analyzes linguistic, psychological, and pedagogical factors that hinder speaking fluency, such as low vocabulary knowledge, fear of making mistakes, lack of confidence, and traditional teaching methods. It also investigates modern teaching strategies, including communicative language teaching, role-play activities, task-based learning, and the use of digital technologies to improve speaking competence. The findings indicate that creating an interactive learning environment, increasing student participation, and applying student-centered methods significantly enhance speaking skills. The article concludes that overcoming speaking difficulties requires a combination of methodological innovation, teacher support, and continuous practice.
