METHODS FOR DEVELOPING STUDENTS' COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE IN ENGLISH LESSONS

Abstract

This article analyzes effective methods for developing students' communicative competence in English lessons. Communicative competence is one of the main goals in learning a foreign language, forming students' skills to correctly and freely use language units in real communication situations. The article highlights the advantages of pair and group work, role-playing games, discussions, the use of information and communication technologies, and the project method. The role of these methods in developing students' speech activity, independent thinking, and creativity is also shown on the basis of examples.
