Abstract

This article examines the effectiveness of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) in enhancing students’ speaking skills in English language learning. Speaking is considered one of the most important language skills, yet many learners face difficulties in expressing themselves confidently and fluently. The communicative approach focuses on meaningful interaction, real-life communication, and student-centered activities that encourage active participation in the learning process. The study analyzes the principles of CLT, its advantages in developing speaking competence, and the role of teachers in creating communicative classroom environments. Furthermore, the article highlights various communicative activities such as role-plays, group discussions, pair work, and problem-solving tasks that contribute to improving learners’ fluency, accuracy, and confidence. The findings suggest that the implementation of Communicative Language Teaching significantly enhances students’ speaking abilities and promotes effective language acquisition
