Abstract

This article explores the effectiveness of social media platforms as modern tools for foreign language acquisition in the digital age. The study focuses on widely used platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and WhatsApp, analyzing their role in enhancing learners’ engagement, vocabulary retention, and communicative competence. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from language learners to evaluate how micro-learning content and multimedia resources influence the learning process. The findings reveal that integrating social media into language education not only improves linguistic skills but also reduces communication anxiety and psychological barriers. The paper also proposes a practical framework for incorporating Web 2.0 technologies into formal language teaching, highlighting their potential to transform traditional educational models into more interactive and learner-centered systems
