Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become one of the most transformative technologies in modern education. Its integration into English Language Teaching (ELT) has created new opportunities for personalized learning, automated assessment, and interactive language practice. This paper examines the role of AI in English language education, focusing on its applications, benefits, challenges, and future prospects. The study employs qualitative analysis of existing literature and contemporary AI-powered educational tools. The findings indicate that AI significantly enhances language learning by providing immediate feedback, adaptive learning experiences, and increased accessibility. However, challenges such as technological dependency, ethical concerns, and reduced human interaction remain significant. The paper concludes that AI should be viewed as a complementary educational tool rather than a replacement for teachers.
