The widespread adoption of social media has significantly transformed the lives of teenagers in the modern digital era. These platforms offer numerous opportunities for communication, education, entertainment, and self-expression. However, excessive use of social media has raised concerns regarding its influence on teenagers' mental health, academic achievement, social relationships, and overall well-being. This article examines both the positive and negative effects of social media on adolescents through a comprehensive review of existing literature and recent studies. The research highlights the role of social media in enhancing communication skills, educational engagement, and creativity while also addressing challenges such as cyberbullying, anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, and academic distractions. The findings suggest that responsible and balanced use of social media can contribute positively to adolescent development, whereas uncontrolled use may lead to significant psychological and social problems.References
