Abstract

This article provides a scientific and theoretical analysis of the role, functional evolution, and challenges associated with high-quality universal educational content within Learning Management Systems (LMS) in modern higher education. The study synthesizes international scholarly articles, systematic reviews, and contemporary concepts in e-learning. The analysis reveals that while LMS platforms have been widely implemented across higher education institutions (HEIs), they predominantly function as tools for administrative management, monitoring, and documentation. Furthermore, the lack of high-quality interactive content, the fragmentation of disciplinary knowledge resources, and the underdeveloped flexibility of learning environments for the "mobile generation" significantly constrain LMS effectiveness. The article highlights the prospects of a centralized universal LMS model, micro-learning, mobile integration, and artificial intelligence-driven adaptive learning concepts.
