This article analyzes the modern scientific-practical, linguistic, and lexicographical foundations of representing music terminology in explanatory dictionaries of the Uzbek language. In the course of the research, a comparative-confrontative analysis of the definitional architecture of musical terms in the 2-volume, 5-volume, and current 6-volume editions of the "Explanatory Dictionary of the Uzbek Language" was conducted. The paper addresses the problems of variation, semantic overloading (polysemy), and asymmetry in the terms of national maqom and Western classical musicology. Furthermore, conceptual proposals and sample dictionary entries have been developed for the unification of modern digital music terms and the creation of a new generation electronic-multimedia explanatory dictionary model based on XML/TEI standards.
