Abstract

This article considers the design of a gearbox for a vehicle with a carrying capacity of 8 tons. The function of the gearbox, its structural structure, the selection of gear ratios, the calculation of gears, and methods for increasing the efficiency of a mechanical gearbox are analyzed. The importance of the gearbox in ensuring the traction, fuel economy, and traffic safety of the vehicle is also highlighted. During the design process, special attention is paid to the selection of the optimal option based on modern engineering approaches and technical requirements.
