Abstract

Stylistics is an interdisciplinary field that explores the relationship between linguistic structures and literary expression. It examines how language functions in literary texts to create artistic meaning, emotional resonance, and interpretive depth. The present study discusses the basic notions of stylistics that form the foundation for the analysis of literary discourse. Particular attention is given to such key concepts as literary image, character, event, plot, setting, expressive means, stylistic devices, stylistic effects, and message. These elements represent the structural and functional components through which literary texts convey meaning and aesthetic value. The study also highlights how linguistic choices contribute to narrative construction and reader interpretation. By integrating insights from linguistics, literary theory, and stylistics, the research demonstrates that stylistic elements operate as essential tools in shaping literary representation and thematic communication.
