Abstract

This research examines the use of problem-solving tasks to promote critical thinking skills in Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT). This study examines how interactive and communicative tasks prompt learners to think critically, make judgements, solve problems together, and communicate their ideas in the language they are learning. The research highlights that problem-solving tasks enhance language skills but also encourage autonomy, creativity and participation of learners. The study suggests that the use of problem-solving tasks in language classrooms promotes a learner-centered classroom where learners are engaged in authentic communication and higher-order thinking skills. As a result, Task-Based Language Teaching seems to be a successful method for developing language and critical thinking skills in language learners.
