Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the functional-semantic properties of anthroponyms in Oʻtkir Hoshimov’s novella “Dunyoning ishlari”. The study investigates the lexical and semantic structure of personal names, their linguistic and linguopoetic characteristics, and the author’s artistic techniques in employing anthroponyms. Particular attention is paid to the role of these names in conveying the social, psychological, and moral dimensions of the characters, as well as in structuring the narrative’s artistic space. The anthroponyms examined carry multilayered semantic and functional loads, acting not merely as nominative units but as significant artistic devices that enhance the individualization of characters, deepen the narrative’s ideological and emotional impact, and facilitate the reader’s comprehension of the work’s conceptual framework.
