Abstract

This article analyzes the functional-semantic features of anthroponyms used in Said Ahmad’s story “Qorako‘z Majnun” from a linguopoetic perspective. The lexical meanings of anthroponyms such as Saodat, Bo‘rixon and Qumri, their role in the literary text, as well as the author’s individual skill in selecting names are revealed. In the course of the research, the functions of anthroponyms are examined not only as nominative units but also as means of creating artistic images and expressing the ideological content from a linguistic point of view. This small study contributes to further enriching the field of anthroponyms in Uzbek linguistics.
