Abstract

This article examines coronavirus disease (COVID-19) caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and its short-term and long-term consequences for human health and global society. The paper discusses the main clinical manifestations of the infection, risk factors for severe disease, and post-COVID complications affecting the respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and psychological systems. Special attention is given to long COVID syndrome, public health impacts, and preventive measures such as vaccination and infection control strategies.
