THE IMPORTANCE OF SPORT IN MAINTAINING AND IMPROVING HUMAN HEALTH

Sport and physical activity are among the most effective factors in maintaining and improving human health. In the context of rapid technological development, increasing sedentary lifestyles, and growing health-related challenges, participation in sports has become a crucial component of a healthy lifestyle. This study examines the influence of sports on physical, mental, and social well-being. The research analyzes scientific literature, educational resources, surveys, and practical observations to identify the key health benefits associated with regular participation in sports activities. The findings indicate that sport contributes significantly to cardiovascular health, muscular development, disease prevention, stress reduction, improved cognitive functioning, and social integration. Furthermore, sports participation enhances self-confidence, teamwork, leadership skills, and academic performance among students. The study also highlights the role of educational institutions in promoting sports through physical education programs, extracurricular activities, and modern technological tools such as fitness tracking applications and virtual coaching systems. The results demonstrate that integrating sports into educational environments can positively influence students’ overall development and contribute to the formation of lifelong healthy habits. Recommendations are provided for policymakers, educators, and community leaders to increase sports participation and improve public health outcomes
