This article is devoted to the study of morphological features of youth vocabulary in the German and Russian languages. The paper examines the most productive word-formation models used in youth communication, including compounding, suffixation, clipping, abbreviation and conversion. Particular attention is paid to the morphological adaptation of anglicisms in German and Russian youth speech. The comparative analysis makes it possible to identify both general tendencies and language-specific features of youth vocabulary. The results show that youth vocabulary is characterized by expressiveness, linguistic economy and a high degree of word-formation creativity
