ПОНЯТИЕ МОЛОДЁЖНОЙ ЛЕКСИКИ В ЛИНГВИСТИЧЕСКОЙ НАУКЕ (НА ОСНОВЕ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННОГО И ЗАРУБЕЖНОГО МАТЕРИАЛА)

Abstract

This article examines the concept of youth vocabulary (youth slang) as a linguistic phenomenon. The study analyzes key approaches to defining youth lexicon in domestic and foreign linguistics, identifies its main features — such as age-related marking, expressiveness, instability, and social conditionality — and traces the evolution of scholarly views from prescriptive condemnation to recognition of youth speech as a full-fledged sociolinguistic object. Particular attention is paid to the distinction between youth slang and related phenomena: student slang, jargon, and colloquial speech. The article also discusses criteria for delimiting youth vocabulary within the general lexical system of a language.
