In today’s digital age, electronic libraries play a vital role in the storage, organization, and distribution of extensive information resources. Yet, the rapid advancement of information technology has introduced a range of information security challenges. This paper explores the major issues related to information security in electronic libraries, such as data protection, user privacy, copyright adherence, and system vulnerabilities. It emphasizes the necessity of adopting comprehensive security measures—including encryption, user authentication, access management, and regular data backups—to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of digital content. The research also underscores the significance of librarians and IT professionals in ensuring a secure digital environment and raising users’ awareness of cybersecurity principles. Effectively addressing these security concerns is crucial for strengthening user confidence, protecting intellectual property rights, and supporting the long-term sustainability of digital knowledge infrastructures.
