Abstract

This article examines the tradition of nomanavislik (letter-writing) and the development of the noma genre in Tajik-Persian and Turkic literature. The study analyzes the historical roots, artistic features, and literary significance of munshaot and nomalar as important components of Eastern literary culture. Special attention is given to the evolution of the genre from early Persian-Tajik literary monuments to its further development in Turkic literature through works such as Khorezmiy’s Muhabbatnoma, Khojandi’s Latofatnoma, and Yusuf Amiriy’s Dahnama. The article highlights the role of literary exchange, translation, and cultural interaction in shaping the aesthetic and intellectual connections among Eastern peoples. Furthermore, the research explores the structural, thematic, and poetic characteristics of the noma genre and its contribution to the enrichment of classical Eastern literature. The findings demonstrate that Tajik-Persian literary traditions significantly influenced the literary processes of neighboring Eastern cultures and continue to hold an important place in modern literary studies.
